About

There is a lot of information out there if you want reviews of games, or apps, or whatever.

But, none of them really take into account modern parenting.

This site reviews apps and games and the technology your kids are using.

As such, our reviews focus on looking for these traits in games and apps:

  • Is there gamification
    • In other words, are there attempts to light up your child’s head with seratonin. It is nice to be able to choose whether you want it.
  • Ads
    • To clarify, I don’t begrudge anyone from making money if they create something desirable to kids and that makes me happy as a parent. But, this needs to have an easy escape hatch: specifically, I don’t want my children subjected to endless ads. Make it easy for me to upgrade and get rid of ads.
  • Limited “good job!” statements inside the game. There are good reasons to show that kids that have their work praised are less likely to succeed than those that learn how to value hard work and don’t need the endless compliments. It’s hard for me to remember that, so I don’t want the games they play to do that too.
  • Can the app or game encouraging team play? Is this possible?
  • Age appropriate? Each of the reviews will indicate for what age it works.
